The rural community of Culleens/Kilglass is situated 18km from the town of Ballina Co. Mayo and 40km from Sligo town This parish has 29 townlands covering almost 13,000 acres and enjoys a traditional Irish setting with large farms, vast bogland and lies under the shadow of kings mountain amoung others.

The area is a close community which enjoys all the ammenities of a typical rural community and also the benifit of the urban ammenities, a short drive away.

This area is steeped in history with many historical sites of interest from a dolmen dating as far back as 3000BC to the site of an ambush during the war of independance in 1921. In typical Irish fashion there are many interesting stories about the history of the area.
